Allow Me To Pick Your Brain

Pick your Brain

Learn something new each day.

Every day is a gift.  Sure that’s a cliché, but sometimes we sleep-walk through our days and take life for granted.  To combat this temptation to become complacent, I’ve made it a point to start each new day by listening to something educational or inspirational.  Waking up this way powers me through my day and gives me the positive attitude needed to confront any obstacle thrown my way.

Feed your body, feed your brain

Not only did I adhere to my regular, morning routine today, but I also I did something simple yet spectacular at the same time…I went for a walk and paid attention to my surroundings; everything from gazing off in the distance as far as my eyes could see to examining the indentation left in the grass by a stray cat.  Simply by analyzing every moment of my walk I was feeding my brain.  I took that one step further this evening, replaying the details of the walk over in my head, and the images were just as vivid as they had been this morning.

Ultimately, my point is simple: take a moment each day to exercise your brain in unique ways.  Daily develop this habit, and the next time you hear the expression “food for thought“–go ahead and take a bite.
