Getting the most out of your travel experiences

You got the passport. Researched the destination. Packed your bags and hit the road.

Rinse.

Reuse.

Repeat the process.

I know, I know, I know…the all-to-familiar jet-setting process. It’s fun. It’s exhilarating. And below are just a few examples of how to get more from your travel experiences.

Start a blog

When I started my blog, Reborn Stronger, I didn’t really know what direction I would take it. All I knew was that I loved travel and loved writing and that was enough to get the ball rolling. Now, with over 100 posts published in the last three years, it’s clear that the purpose of my blog is to share my experiences around the world and inspire others to get out and explore as well.

Create a Vlog series of your travel experiences

The sky is limit regarding your exact Vlog topic. Personally, considering the fact that travel and motivation are such important topics in my life, I decided to make good use of previously unshared past travel photos. The result? My very own YouTube series, One Minute Motivation, was born! The premise is simple. Beautiful images combined with beautiful messages of inspiration. All packaged into easily digestible, short bursts of one minute increments. Watch just a couple, or throw on the playlist and check out the entire series!

Share your journeys through public speaking

Growing up, I didn’t think world travel was possible. I don’t have time. I don’t have the money. It’s too far. And the list of excuses went on. Once I let go of limiting belief systems; however, the world changed…quite literally…right before my very eyes. A decade of travel has given me more insight and education than a lifetime of classwork gives many. With that said, I’d be remiss not to share my journey and, considering the fact that everyone has a story to tell, why not share yours as well.

Do something outside the norm

A few years back, I wanted to kick-start my path back to a healthy lifestyle. I wasn’t motivated to hop on the next diet fad and I needed a break from the monotony of the gym. So the “fitcation” was born. An entire trip focused solely on being healthy and active. Now I’m not saying you necessarily have to embark upon a fitcation also to get more out of your travel experiences, maybe a solo trip is an alternate option for example. But I am saying, don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone and accept the challenge to experience something you wouldn’t normally do while on vacation.

Connect with the locals

This, to me, is often the most underappreciated element of travel. The locals of a particular location are what truly breathe life into the destination. Don’t be shy. Also, connecting with the locals has a global impact. Many individuals are usually more than eager to engage in friendly conversation and, who knows, those conversations could lead to you acquiring new knowledge or finding that off the beaten path place or restaurant that doesn’t pop up in guidebooks out Google searches.

Although I have two small bear cubs there is no chances for me traveling hard right now (until they’re 18 LOL). I am going to sub to your channel too. AWESOME!!
