Failure is not an option: Top 5 reasons goals are not met

Kilimanjaro through the trees

Failure, as I see it, is no reason to hold your head down…just further motivation to succeed.

5.  Fear of failure

  • Fear is like a disease, it creeps into your mind and then spreads until it consumes.  It’s been said that the richest places on the planet are graveyards. Why? Because they’re filled with ideas, inventions,  discoveries, etc that were never realized because of fear.  When met with fear the decision is simple: Forget Everything And Run OR Face Everything And Rise.

4.  Allowing others to negatively influence you

  • “You’re not smart enough.”  “That will never work.” “There’s no money in that career.” “You’re too slow..too little…too old.”  Whatever the reason may be, there will ALWAYS be naysayers and people who try to displace your dreams with negativity.  My adviceThe only thing stopping you is you.

3.   Inadequate preparation

  • Getting started is the first step, but continuing to move forward is even more vital.  The key to accomplishing this by always being prepared.  Be ready for any scenario, that way when faced with adversity you will stare it in the face, smile, and keep working towards your goal.

2.  Lack of focus

  • After determining your goal, fully dedicate yourself to it.  Don’t try to juggle this and juggle that.  Concentrate your energy on whatever it is that you want and don’t stop until you get it.  Will Smith once said, “I never had a plan B…because I knew that it would only take away from my plan A.”  Make plan A your priority and channel your energy toward making it a reality.

1.  Prematurely giving up

  • It’s been said that Edison failed over a thousand times before he actually invented the light bulb.  When asked how it felt to fail so many times he replied, “I have not failed…I have simply found over 1000 ways how not to create a light bulb.”  Nothing in life comes without hard work.  You may feel overwhelmed, you may want to quit, but when that moment of complete exhaustion is reached…push a little bit more and you will thank yourself in the end.

This is a great little post that is riddled with truth. This is why I love making lists, so that I can be prepared and know exactly what my goals are. It is so scary to think that the richest places on the planets are graveyards… I wonder how many ideas and inventions have been created by someone else or will never be discovered. The power of fear is strong. Thanks for sharing.

Great points. I find these all to be true. Sometimes I have so many things to do, my focus seems to be split in too many directions. It would be better to have a more singular focus and get it done. Thank you!

We all feel that way at times… I’ve often found greater satisfaction in efficiently completing one task as opposed to having a multitude of incomplete projects.
