2018 Travel Bucket List Seychelles

I started making yearly bucket list travel destinations back in 2015. Since then Iā€™ve managed to hit at least half of the chosen destinations in each subsequent year. Last year, I decided to share my 2017 travel bucket list with the world and Iā€™m following suit again this year. Why? To inspire both you and me to explore somewhere new and push ourselves to our full travel potential. So with no further ado, here is my 2018 Travel Bucket List.

2018 Travel Bucket List

Aruba

While everyone one loves fun in the sun, Aruba is much more than sandy beaches and coastlines. One of the worldā€™s most diverse populations and home to ancient paintings that date back over 100 years are what truly make this island special. And, for those that only want to catch waves and chillā€”it has more sunny days than any other Caribbean island!

Finland

Iā€™ve been captivated with Finland for several years now. Spurred by seeing pictures of the glass igloo hotel, Kakslauttanen Artic Resort, that looks up into the colorful night sky. Although Iā€™ve heard mixed reviews, Iā€™d still like to head there myself and check it out in person.

Greenland

With Wow Air delivering budget-friendly flights year-round, Iceland seems to be a hot destination right now. For anyone planning a trip there, Iā€™d highly recommended to give yourself a few more days to pop over to Greenland. Transportation can be easily arranged after arriving in Reykjavik and itā€™s well worth the journey. Although the name is deceptive, with over 80% of the land covered in ice, Greenland offers a range of diverse flora and fauna not seen anywhere else in the world. The highlight for me; however, would definitely be the hot springs!

Morocco

Food, food, FOOD! Thatā€™s the first thing that comes to my mind when I think Morocco. As Africaā€™s top tourist destination, the over 10 million annual visitors to this nation must have something right. As a travel writer, it holds an even larger piece of my heart knowing that one of the worldā€™s original travel writers, Ibn Battuta, was born in Morocco and began his journey from this nation.

2018 Travel Bucket List: Morocco

Namibia

Yet another African gem. As one of the worldā€™s least densely populated countries, you wonā€™t have to worry about fighting through crowds during a visit to Namibia. While most people near my hometown of Gary, Indiana know of the Big Daddyā€™s BBQ chain, a visit to Namibia is not complete without seeing the most photographed sand dune in the world. The ultimate Big Daddyā€”a 325m sand dune, appropriately named, Big Daddy.

But waitā€¦thereā€™s more!

Nicaragua

As a lifelong baseball fan, it warms my heart to visit a place where the national sport takes place on the diamond. Athletics aside, Nicaragua is a nation that has the best of both worldsā€”beautiful beaches and more than 400 volcanic islands to explore.

New Zealand

Sheep lovers rejoice! There are nine times more sheep than people in New Zealand. Aside from sheep, however, it is a nature loverā€™s paradise. You can camp, hike, and climb to your hearts content. But one of the major reasons I want to go is for a visit to Taumatawhakatangihangaoauauotameteaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu, just to say that Iā€™ve been there. In case youā€™re wonderingā€¦YES, that actually is the name of a place in New Zealand.

That’s what I call dinner with a view!

Peru

Two wordsā€”Machu Picchu. While Iā€™d undoubtedly like to visit those ruins, Iā€™m more interested in visiting the lesser known sister city of Choquequirao. Ruins just as beautiful as Machu Picchuā€¦with half the tourists.

2018 Travel Bucket List: Peru

Machu Picchu

Seychelles

Island paradise. A capital city that be explored completely by foot. The place James Bond author went for writing inspirationā€¦if thatā€™s not motivation enough, then I donā€™t know what is!

Uganda

Uganda is home to the less than 1000 mountain gorillas left in the world. To go gorilla-trekking in this nation would truly be the ultimate highlight of this bucket list.
